Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, which makes her the second youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada on the 24th July of 1982. The Canadian born actress is also a New Zealander actress. In 1993, she received an Academy Award at age 11 for playing the inquisitive and talking daughter of Holly Hunter who played the leading role. After responding to a call for auditions, she was able to audition at the age of nine years old, with no previous experience in acting the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's role. Flora was the daughter of a Scottish pianist, who was deaf. They relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to get married. When she was a teenager, she moved into the United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's main character when she was an teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the main role in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin was a part-time actress in the 1997 TV movie version to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The actress played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
