Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece then moved to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform for voice which offered critiques of politics. In part, her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna's fame started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote to replace Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded 12th position on that list. That same year Guardian listed her among the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group and also included several other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. The way she lived her life was determined by the closeness she had to her mother as well as her relationship with her father despite being extremely close to the latter. Even during her formative years, she exhibited leadership skills for which are still prominently known. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and a television host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
