Kelly Clarkson is an American singer and songwriter who became the nation's sweetheart following her win of the American Idol title in the premiere season. The singer was not just ushered into the spotlight by her victory however, she also signed the contract for several albums with RCA Records 19 Recordings & 'S Records. From her first appearance in the series, she has released a number of albums. Three of those albums reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The others were close to reaching the top position. It's a major artists that have come out of American Idol. When she was successful, she tried out different themes and music styles often co-writing her songs in accordance to her own personal experiences. The uniqueness of her voice and singing talent earned her praise from critics along with a host of important prizes. Her most notable achievement was that she received the Grammy Award three times. Apart from her music career she has also appeared in movies and TV shows. She is also the writer of the book for children River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and involved with many charitable organizations.
