In the three albums that followed the three albums that followed -- Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 and Reputation 2017 -- Swift's popularity only increased. That was an obvious indicator that Swift had entered the new music scene that she could be part of. When she reduced her sound by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, folklore and Evermore but she was still on top. The position was defended through re-recordings of her previous catalog as well as Midnights, her synth-heavy chart-topping 2022 album.
